Giving Back to the Denver Community
Hip Hip Hooray! The Digible Crew wrapped up Q2 and summer is in full swing! Although school is out, Digible’s Fiona Forward initiative has been in motion!
The Fiona Forward team branched out and found new organizations to support while continuously pursuing the goal of making a positive impact on those experiencing homelessness in the Denver community. We’ve had so many highlights from this quarter, but let me share just a few!
Knit Happens
The first event of the quarter was spearheaded by one of Fiona Forward’s newest members, Kelsie! She started Knit Happens as a personal goal to knit hats for those experiencing homelessness in the Denver area. She was thrilled to present the idea to Digible and an outpour of team members were eager to help! We are on track to knit around 100 beanies by October, which will be donated to a local organization.
Urban Peak + Dress for Success
The second initiative was a donation drive with Urban Peak and Dress for Success where Digible employees collected lightly used shoes, backpacks, professional clothing as well as deodorant. We successfully collected numerous items and help support a few mission-minded organizations serving the Denver community. Urban Peak ignites the potential in youth to exit homelessness and create self-determined, fulfilled lives. Dress for Success empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing professional attire to help women thrive in work and in life.
Paint-A-Thon with Brothers Redevelopment
Lastly, towards the end of the quarter, a group of us ventured out on a toasty day to participate in Brothers Redevelopment’s 44th Paint-A-Thon event. The Paint-A-Thon program offers income-eligible homeowners the chance to save big and devote their savings to their other important costs, such as medication, groceries, and bills, while still maintaining their most important investment—their home. We assisted the Aegerter family by painting the exterior of their home. This allows them to stay in their homes for longer and provides a better quality of life.
