Fiona Forward – Q3 2022

Giving Back to the Denver Community

Hey hey hey! Did someone say Q3 recap?

We kicked off Q3 with the toasty summer months of July and August, leading into the crisp autumn temperatures of September, and Fiona Forward was hard at work volunteering in the Denver community and beyond.

Kicking off the quarter, a group of Digible employees headed up to Mount Evans to assist Volunteers Outdoor Colorado with their Habitat Restoration event. In order to help preserve the biodiversity in the Mount Evans wilderness area, the team removed the invasive thistle blossoms from the trails and surrounding areas. In doing so, the land will now be clear of this plant making it a healthier and happier ecosystem.

Marshall Fire Restoration

In August, we headed north along the Front Range to Boulder, Colorado, to participate in the Marshall Fire Restoration of Marshall Mesa Trail. This volunteer initiative supported the preservation of the trail area that was impacted by the Marshall Fires in December 2021. During this event, we deconstructed undesignated hiking trails which allows for the natural regrowth and vegetation of the land.

Food For Thought

September was an action-packed month with around 20 Digible volunteers heading to Food For Thought Denver twice in one month. Our group helped pack over ten-thousand meals for children in need in the greater Denver area. Food For Thought Denver is an organization we have volunteered with many times throughout the past few years. We even had the founder, Bob Bell, on our Digible Dudes Podcast to talk about the mission and the why behind Food For Thought! Check out their website to get involved.

Digible Summit

In our Digible Summit, we sat down with Move for Hunger, a national non-profit organization that created a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger by partnering with moving, relocation, and multi-family industries to provide their customers, clients, and residents the opportunity to donate their food when they move. Visit their page to learn about ways to get involved to reduce food waste and employee engagement programs.

Looking Ahead with Fiona Forward

Currently, Fiona Forward is running a winter clothing drive through October and into November. We will collect all donations on November 17th and bring them to Urban Peak Denver. All items from winter jackets to hats, mittens, and scarves will be collected.

Fiona Forward’s employee volunteer mission not only focuses on multifamily housing projects but environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues in the greater Denver community.
